Plotting here….

So while waiting for book 3 to be finished and to keep from losing my patience, I find fun little diversions through people and the things that they say or mention.

I cannot help it, people and conversations have a tendency to give me wacky ideas to incorporate into my fantasy sci fi writing world.

Usually when bored as most know, once in the while, I chase down pseudo-archaeology and why it is pseudo. I actually have several additions sitting on my desk that I could add to my No it is Not… blog about hoaxes or pseudo crapology, but no. I am plotting, which means adding another iron to the already unstable fire pit of irons.

In a conversation earlier today, I had this idea… a bit on the complex side but then again I tend to over detail than make it simple….. so here it goes

I am plotting a way I can bring the 5th estate into play by creating a fake web site and using authorial intrusion get readers into an interaction thus in effect breaking the revered 4th wall between writer and reader.

The web site will be called “Terminological Inexactitude” the source for the real secret of the ancient past. Yes you read that right: a pseudo site that deals with pseudo images and notions that are in compliance to my book series.

This is where it gets fun, books 4 and 5 are centered here on earth where the main characters, including our lovable heroic warrior, are brought. Why? You are asking yourself. Ahhh that is a secret, as you have to read how and why…. however …..

… if you are good I will give you some hint but shhhhhh

While on earth, I give a clue to their home and their existence while they are on the run. Our alien heroes will come across a website/blog “Terminological Inexactitude” that refers to elements from their home world and how those elements show an alien presence on earth. The blog will also mention the wars and the Prophecy that predicts the end.

However this is not a benevolent benefactor giving out clues to find our heroes, nor is it a human who came across the information. Well maybe I did not tell the whole truth there, or maybe I did….

Oh dear I can be a little pain in the “gluteus maximus” in revealing what is real and what is a red herring.

But I can tell you this, while interacting with this website/blog, our group will unknowingly be communicating the enemy as well as any reader of the series or unsuspecting web-surfer.

So this will be in a sense a spying case to try and draw the heroes out and also to make them doubt and fear their own world. Thus the creator of the blog will have served this dual purpose either on purpose or as a causation of the blog. The enemy who also trips into this blog, searches for who owns the blog as well as casting dispersion on our heroes to make them fear their home world and make them think they were evil on that world.

Now hold on I hear you out there going WHAT! How come they do not know their home? What happened? Sudden amnesia in all? Tell us!!!! The reason why is …

That you must read … I know I am a meanie.

Now where and how did this idea develop? First off the name of the website “Terminological Inexactitude” will be a satire or based off pseudo sites. The name itself “Terminological Inexactitude”, a phrase was coined by Winston Churchill and basically means a lie or falsehood. That is the big hint, this site will be a hoax.

The site will be the main focus of a naïve author who is blogging the contents of a small box she found. Inside there is some papers, small artifacts, and a letter that tells the history of a race of aliens who are invading earth and must be destroyed before they gain control. The letter begs whoever finds this box, to let the world know. That is the premise of why the blog was started.

The enemies of our heroes see the blog and know this is their history being revealed. They are unable to find the author but come to the conclusion this blog could be used to catch our heroes… oh nooooooo

Oh yes……

Thus the enemy starts commenting and providing additional material and “artifacts” to draw our alien heroes in. These alien devotee comments are of course mocked by some yet revered by others as the greatest posts since sliced bread idea. The enemy needs to find out heroes and kill them before they can return and free their home world. So the push is on.

The use of “ancient artifacts” etc. will be easy to connect them to the alien world using false information that seems real, there are many examples in the series that I can latch onto.

The characters will have to interact with the website and try to find out what is going on… the readers will learn what is pseudo and the tactics how it is done will be shown

And the nail in the lid will be the author of the blog, who is drum roll… me!!! I come in to debunk the alien connection to earth. Only in the end to be converted to the belief the aliens do exist since they are in the flesh on earth and met them.

Darn those silly real facts….

This will be sooooo much fun and believable if I pull it off……
