Yuma Writing Group

I am more of an introvert lately, especially since Mom left this world. I do not like going into unknown surroundings or events as panic still creeps up. On the positive side I am better and now can drive to places close to home with no problem.

So on Saturday, my daughter and I, went to a writers group here in Yuma at the library… all very nice friendly people who are either published or in the process of writing. They are focusing more on support than critiquing per say, which is refreshing.

The initiator of the group was prepared with some great information for a beginner. It takes a lot of his personal time to do this for free so I think he should be given a great deal of kudos and credit for this.

For me a great deal of the information was knowledge I had acquired, but then again I have been in the “know” when e-books first became an item and I was then encouraged to publish. So I knew lots of people who were publishing and they would keep me in the know about the world of independent publishing.

But still one can learn even from what you already know. Thus we shall wander back next Saturday and hopefully the second time around will be as enjoyable as the first time. So go join one and enjoy….

About jasterling

One part of my life is in the science of anthropology and archaeology where I did comparative work. My other life that I am now pursuing is writing along the lines of fantasy/sci fi fictional writing as my one way to stay sane in this other insane world. Please enjoy the selections you will find in my blog.
